A VINTAGE car show is being held in a village later this month.

Greatham Sports Field Association and the Northern Bygone Society have organised the third Vintage Car and Motorbike Rally.

The event will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 10am until 4pm on Greatham Village’s Sports Field, off Station Road.

Around 60 classic cars and other vehicles are expected at the show, which will also be hosting a car boot sale at a cost of £5 per table.

There will also be a bouncy castle, an ice-cream van and food available.

Ronnie Westmoreland, from the Greatham Sports Field Association, said: “It’s our third year running and if last year is anything to go by then it’ll be great again.

“There will be cars and vehicles there from the 1930s onwards.

“We’ll be asking spectators to vote for their favourite as well so that we can run a Best Exhibit In Show competition.”

There will be a small entrance free of £1 for the chance to see cars such as Morris 1000, a Hillman Minx, a Ford Anglia, Cortina and Escort, and some army trucks from years gone by.

This Saturday, on September 6, The Hope and Anchor Leek show will be held.

Members of the public are welcome to view the goods from 1pm and the produce will be auctioned off around 2.30pm.
