A PHOTOGRAPHER has issued another rallying call for his former classmates to let him know if they are up for a reunion.

Michael Gant, who runs Rainbow Photography, based on Hartlepool’s Headland, appeared in the Mail two months ago asking if anyone from Henry Smith School’s Class of 1978 was interested in a get-together.

He said since then, sadly there have been no real plans for a gathering, but he now wants to see some momentum to put firm plans in place for the event.

The 52-year-old dad to Jennifer and Joshua, who is married to Brenda and lives on the Headland, says it would be great to see his former classmates.

A Facebook page called Henry Smith’s 1978 School Reunion page has been set up so people can give their views on having a get-together, as well as share school photographs.

Michael, who sings in a band called Presence, which was formed when he was at school, said: “We are talking about having a reunion probably in one of the first three weekends in September.

“Some people who live out of the country, like Leigh Pratt, whose maiden name was Sanderson, even said September would be alright.
“It would be a real shame not to meet up with old pals.

“We attended in the first year Henry Smith School became a Comprehensive and there were nine classes in that year.

“So we are talking at least 270 people.

“I want to see how many people are interested and then sort a venue out, probably somewhere central.”
