OPERA sensation Russell Watson is set to wow fans in Hartlepool again after a new concert was announced.
The Voice, who has sold millions of albums worldwide, is to perform alongside Hartlepool Male Voice Choir next summer.
It will be the third time he has performed with the popular choir at the Headland’s Borough Hall venue.
The choir had to cancel its annual summer celebrity concert last year, but are looking forward to returning with a bang next June.
Duncan Graham, chairman of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir, said: “We are delighted that Russell has agreed to perform in Hartlepool.
“He is keen to come back after the reaction he received last time.
“We had a list of five or six celebrities we were looking at and Russell’s people got in touch to say he would like to work with us.”
The top tenor last performed with the male voice choir in 2012.
Afterwards he posted on social media he had had “one of the best nights for a long time” and praised the town audience as “brilliant”.
Russell first performed in Hartlepool in 2010 and both his previous appearances have been sell outs.
And organisers are confident demand will be high for next year’s show.
Duncan added: “Last time I had waiting lists for returns with five or six weeks to go.”
Russell previously battled back from two brain tumours in 2006 and another in 2007 when he underwent emergency surgery.
But he bounced back to record hit new albums and tour the country performing.
The concert will be held on Saturday, June 20, in the Borough Hall at 7.30pm.
Tickets will be available through choir members between Friday, October 24 to Friday, November 7.
They will go on general sale from November 18 through Hartlepool Tourist Information Centre in Christ Church in Church Square.
Seats are priced at £35 with a small number which have a slightly restricted view at £30.
People can call Duncan on (01429) 296945 and secretary Mick Waller on (01429) 423063.
