NEXT Wednesday sees the last of this year’s lunchtime organ concerts in St. George’s.
You may want to take this opportunity to sit down for half an hour and relax.
I won’t say “quietly” as I don’t know what the programme will be but I do know you will enjoy it. It begins at noon.
It’s quite a while ago that I mentioned this concert, which is now coming up quite quickly, and you may want to get your tickets in plenty of time.
An Advent concert is to be held at Holy Trinity Church, Davison Drive, on Tuesday, December 2, at 7.30pm.
Entertainment will be provided by the Hartlepool Community Choir, directed by George Colley and will include a variety of popular music as well as some not so well-known numbers.
A special medley of songs is included to commemorate the beginning of World War One. (They might not mind if you hum along).
Christmas music is also on the programme with the opportunity for a singalong.
Mulled wine or coffee and mince pie is included in the ticket price of £3.50 and these are available from any member of Holy Trinity congregation or by ringing Marion on (01429) 260390.
Everyone is welcome and accompanied children are admitted free.
We are lucky that so many people are interested in providing music in Hartlepool and that our churches provide such good places to hear it.
Certainly, the acoustics are excellent in many of our churches.
I suppose they have to be; worship leaders didn’t have microphones when many were built.
Next week continues the Fairs, Fayres and Bazaar season and coming up are St. Oswald’s and the 4th Hartlepool Boys’ Brigade in St Matthews CC Elwick Rd.
More information next Friday.
