Give your help

Many of us take it for granted that we can just get up and go out to do what we want to and need to.

For people with sight loss life can be more complicated.

Simple things like popping to the shops or keeping up a hobby can seem difficult, if not impossible.

Our ground-breaking My Guide sighted guide service sees volunteers paired with people who have lost their sight, providing support so that they can build confidence to go out and do the things they want to and need to.

The My Guide role is a great way to gain new skills and have fun while knowing that you are making a real difference to someone’s life.

Previous activities have involved everything from bowling to bingo and archery.

All have been great fun for both the volunteer and My Guide service user.

Full training and support is given and we ask that you commit to the equivalent of two hours a week for three to six months.
