Performer of the Year and special recognition award

WATCH out for the name Fleur Houdijk.

This 15-year-old from Hartlepool is already making a name for herself on the West End stage where she has starred in the musicals Billy Elliot and Matilda.

Now she’s about to feature in the street dancing film All Stars alongside actor and presenter John Barrowman and Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh.

It’s quite some achievement for a teenager who wins our Performer of the Year award in a category which had more nominations than any other, and all of a massively high standard.

Fleur’s proud mum Sharon Cook picked up the award on her daughter’s behalf.

But Fleur made sure that a message from her made it to the awards night. Sharon explained: “She sent me a text saying she is proud to be from Hartlepool.”

A tearful Sharon added: “I am over the moon to collect this. It is a great honour and a privilege to be even shortlisted in a category like this.

“What she has achieved doesn’t really happen every day in Hartlepool.”

She said her daughter was busy doing GCSEs and with auditions. She is also still studying hard at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.

Her big movie moment arrives on May 3 when All Stars hits the cinema screens. Sharon added: “She is the main girl character. I think what she has achieved is incredible.”
