Overnight roadworks are being carried out on the A689 at Sedgefield - starting this evening
Durham County Council will resurface a section of the eastbound carriageway.
Work begins tonight and expected to be complete by next Saturday, July 30.
Work will take place between 7pm and 6am, with the eastbound carriageway closed between its A177 Hardwick Park and Stockton Road roundabouts.
Signposted diversion routes will be in place through Sedgefield from July 21, to July 24.
From July 25, to the completion of works, a contraflow system will be in place on the A689 westbound carriageway.
The council’s head of technical services, John Reed, tsaid: “This work is part of our maintenance programme to resurface the road network across the county, for the benefit
of all users.
“We are carrying out the work at night to minimise disruption and we thank motorists in advance for their patience while it is carried out.”
