Panto’s coming, oh yes it is!

A LONG-RUNNING drama group promises five rib-tickling performances when it holds its annual pantomime.

The Blackhall Community Players are now selling tickets for its January production of Little Miss Muffet.

Around 40 cast members aged from seven to 70 will be wowing an anticipated 1,000 spectators over the five days.

It will run at Blackhall Community Centre, in Hesleden Road, from Tuesday, January 24 to Saturday, January 28.

Weekday performances will be held from 7pm and the Saturday show is at 2pm.

Margaret Stephenson, who leads the group, said the plot of the panto is a “secret” but added: “Be prepared for surprises, a mixture of old and new and laughs galore.

“There will be fantastic costumes, fantastic dancing and a lot of fun that suits all ages.”

Tickets cost £4 and are available by calling Mrs Stephenson on (0191) 5867572, Millie Tempest on (0191) 5871851 or the community centre on (0191) 5867396.
