A FEMALE parachutist was taken to hospital after crash-landing in a garden.
The woman, beloved to have launched from Peterlee Parachute Centre, at Shotton Airfield, became stuck in trees but freed herself from a harness.
A crew from Peterlee Fire Station was called to help paramedics get to her after having trouble opening a gate to the garden of a house, in Whitehouse Court, Peterlee.
The incident happened around 7.10pm yesterday and firefighters spent half an hour rescuing the stricken woman.
She was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with minor injuries.
