RESIDENTS are reminded of the chance to become a parish councillor.
Hartlepool Headland Parish Council has vacancies and members are urging people to sign up and help complete a full council of 13 members.
There are currently four places on the parish council and because the vacancies have arrived between elections, people are urged to find out if they qualify and register their interest.
For a taste of life in the parish council, people can attend a public meeting tomorrow in the Croft Room at the Borough Hall, in Middlegate, from 6.45pm.
The parish council supports events on the Headland over the course of the year including the Headland Carnival, the annual Heritage Festival and a Headland in Bloom competition.
The parish council also assists with the finances for Christmas trees and lights on the Headland and is working towards the development of a neighbourhood plan.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a parish councillor or wants more information can call into the Parish Office, in the Borough Hall which is open on a Wednesday.
Alternatively call (01429) 894583 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
