A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run collision on a busy road.
Police launched an investigation after the pedestrian was hit by a car at the junction of Catcote Road and Wynyard Road, Hartlepool, at about 6.30pm yesterday.
Cleveland Police confirmed the car involved in the collision did not stop at the scene.
Officers were today continuing their inquiries. The woman was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, where she was treated for bruising.
She was released last night.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “A pedestrian was injured in a road traffic collision at the junction of Wynyard Road and Catcote Road.
“Police are making further inquiries, the car involved didn’t stop at the scene.”
