Children got to dance like an Egyptian on a day filled with creativity.
The Hartlepool Council-run Oscar Playcentre provides after school care as well as a programme of activities.
Among its latest activities was a chance for children to try out Egyptian dancing and make costumes.
The service, in the former West Rugby clubhouse on Catcote Road, holds a summer holiday programme for children aged three to 16.
Parents can drop off their children from 8am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. Kids then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills before being collected by parents before 5.45pm.
Activities within the centre include crafts, a princess and pirate day, cookery, kite making and sports, but there are trips to places such as Romano Park at Ingleby Barwick, Seaton Beach, Vue Cinema and Ward Jackson Park.
Sandra Robinson, the council’s Out of School coordinator, said: “With West Rugby Club moving into their brand new clubhouse, we’ve now got exclusive use of their former clubhouse which is fantastic. Staff have even been giving up their spare time recently to spruce the place up.”
