A TOP Hartlepool United defender has helped push the club’s season ticket offer past the 2,500 barrier.
Evan Horwood is among four first team players that will be putting a shift in at Pools’ ticket office this week in a bid to boost sales.
If the club reach their target of 4,000 sales before Friday, July 15, then supporters will have to pay just £100 for their season ticket – less than £5 per game.
The left-back sold the 2,500th ticket to first-time season ticket holder Matthew Robinson, 26, who works for HM Revenues and Customs.
Matthew, of Gatesgarth Close, Hartlepool, will miss the first couple of home games though as he is due to wed fiancee Kirsty Galbraith, 26, on August 6, and will be away on honeymoon.
The pair are due to tie the knot at St Luke’s Church, before a reception at the Hartlepool Maritime Experience.
Matthew said: “I try to go to Pools as much as I can but this is the first time I have had a season ticket.
“The offer is great value for money.”
Adam Boyd was due to be at the club between 3pm-5pm today, while tough-tackling Peter Hartley will spend two hours in the ticket office on Wednesday, from 3pm-5pm and Antony Sweeney will be there at the same time on Thursday.
People can snap up a ticket by making their way to the ticket office, at Victoria Park, in Clarence Road.
The office is usually open from 10am-4pm, from Monday-Friday, but opening hours have been extended in the lead up to the deadline.
The office will be open from 10am-6pm this Thursday, June 30, and again on Thursday, July 7 and Thursday, July 14.
It will also open this Saturday, July 2, and on Saturday, July 9 from 9am-1pm.
Fans can also buy their tickets over the phone by calling (01429) 272584.
