ORGANISERS of a netball tournament with a difference say the event was so successful it could take place every year.

Oaksway Netball Club held an outdoor mixed netball tournament and challenged men to don bibs for the charity event, held at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College, in Catcote Road, Hartlepool, at the weekend.

The aim was to raise money for Oaksway and 12 teams registered on the day.

There was also a funday to entertain the rest of the family, including a bouncy castle, inflatable assault course, face-painting and entertainment. Organiser Natalie Connor, 29, who plays in defence and has been a member of Oaksway since she was 10, said: “The tournament went really well, and we raised nearly £500.

“I think it will be something we do annually.”
