Police appeal after biker hurt

POLICE are appealing for information after a rider was seriously injured when he fell from his motorbike.

The 18-year-old biker was riding a red Kawasaki ZXR 400H motorbike when he lost control of the vehicle and it hit a lamppost.

The teenager, from Peterlee, was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering from chest and back injuries.

He has since been released following the incident, which took place around 12.50pm on Tuesday, August 23.
