Police appeal after compound break-in

POLICE are appealing for information after four taxis were broken into at a compound.

Peterlee Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating after four cars were broken into at the Poda Taxis yard on the North East Industrial Estate.

One of the cars sustained £100 worth of damage after yobs smashed its window to get in.

The culprits are said to have gained entry to the yard by climbing over a fence.

Police are linking the incident, which happened overnight between February 12 and 13, to a separate burglary at a nearby compound, in which two cars were broken into, around the same time.

Any witnesses are urged to contact PC Gary Fildes, of Peterlee Police, on (0191) 3752612.
