POLICE are appealing for the driver of a 4x4 to come forward after a motorcyclist was hurt in a collision on the A19.
The incident happened just after 2pm on Monday when a black 4x4 of unknown make and model drove up the northbound entry slip road onto the A19 near Peterlee and forced its way onto the carriageway.
Police say this caused the motorcyclist to collide into the back of a Renault Clio.
The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital, where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
PC Jack Hamilton, of Seaham Roads Policing Unit, urged the 4x4 driver or anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the 4x4 driving away from the scene to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
