Police are appealing for information after two men talked an elderly woman into letting them into her home in Hartlepool.

The incident took place at an address on Loyalty Close on Sunday, March 12, when two men attended the address of an 89-year-old woman and claimed to be looking for a woman called Jennifer.

They walked into the address and walked around the house.

Although no property was stolen, it is believed the men may have been looking for something valuable to steal.

The first suspect is described as a white male, aged in his early 40’s, of small build and with short, grey hair which may have been thinning.

He was also wearing a short dark grey jacket which had flashes of green on it.

The second suspect is described as being of bigger build and younger than the first male. He was smartly dressed and was wearing a jacket.

Both of the men left the property in a black car.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Detective Constable Dave Walker on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
