Police are appealing for witnesses after a 26-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and robbed on Mulgrave Road in Hartlepool.

The alleged incident occurred on April 18 at around 12:30pm when the victim was allegedly attacked by two men who stole items and money from him outside the Premier Store.

Two men, aged 21 and 36, have been charged with robbery and are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today.

The victim suffered minor injuries but did not receive any medical treatment.
