Police are looking for information about a mobility scooter stolen from Hartlepool.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team said the scooter was taken on Tuesday, October 10, at around 10pm from a property in the Powlett Road area.

Two males were seen with the scooter in Allerton Close at around 10.40pm on the same evening. It was then abandoned on the path between Allerton Close and Brecongill Close.

A spokesman for the police team, said: "The disabled owner is dependent on the scooter for getting out and about and obviously this incident has affected the owner’s quality of life leaving them without a mode of transport."
