Police are treating the death of a woman as suspicious after a body was found in a Hartlepool house.
Cleveland Police say they are treating the death as suspicious and have arrested two teenage girls.
Police and scenes of crime experts are at a property in Stephen Street, in the town centre area, following the discovery this morning, on Tuesday, December 9.
Circumstances surrounding her death are not yet known.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police can now confirm they are treating the death of a woman whose body was found in an address in Stephen Street in Hartlepool as suspicious.
“Two teenage girls have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“A post-mortem examination will take place and in the meantime police are asking for anyone with information to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
