Figures have shown that there is a rise in funeral costs in the North East – but do you agree that burials should cost more than cremations?

Figures supplied by the Royal London National Funeral Cost index surveys revealed that the North East is one of the cheapest places for a funeral in the UK – despite prices being up from last year.

In the region, Durham Central is the cheapest for a cremation – while Hartlepool is the cheapest for a burial, with a cost of £3,490.

Durham Central, Durham North and Bishop Auckland areas are the most expensive places in the North East region for burials, with an average price tag of £4,300.

But do you agree that getting buried at the end of your life should be more expensive than a cremation?
