Poolies galore back Mail campaign

FORMER Poolies came out in force when a loyal friend visited Australia.

Town woman Margaret Brady, 72, was on holiday in New South Wales and took time to pose for photographs while holding a copy of the Hartlepool Mail’s Proud To Be A Poolie poster.

By doing so, she helped to spread the word about the greatest town in the world.

She is pictured with her sister Elizabeth Wallace in one photograph in Laurieton, in New South Wales. In the second, Margaret is pictured with John, Ian and Steve Palmer who are all former Hartlepol residents, and who all posed for the camera in Sydney.

Our thanks go to Margaret, who lives in the Wooler Road area of Hartlepool, and her friends for becoming the latest backers of our campaign to spread the word.

Why not take your chance to show your passion about your town?

All we want you to do is pick up a copy of our poster from the Hartlepool Mail reception or download it from www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk. It contains the slogan Proud To Be A Poolie.

With the summer season fast approaching, take it with you whenever you go on holiday or go away for a short break.

Have your photograph taken with the poster and send it to us so that we can publish it – and show that you have helped to spread the Hartlepool word.

Send your photos – as well as details including age, address, telephone number and email – to the Mail newsdesk, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX, or log onto www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk
