Putting spotlight on pet adoption

PET shop staff are all set for a week of fundraising.

The team at Pets at Home, in Highpoint Retail Park, off Marina Way, Hartlepool, will be busy running pet adoption workshops as well as a whole host of fun and activities to raise money for Support Adoption For Pets, the charity the store established and supports.

The workshops aim to increase awareness of pet adoption and knowledge of how to care for pets looking for a new home.

Raffle tickets will also be on sale for just £1 with prizes including free pet food for a year, six-month magazine subscriptions, gift vouchers and a fish tank.

The fundraising week will take place in store from Friday, May 6, to Friday, May 13.

Peter Stonehouse, store manager, said: “We really look forward to these fundraising weeks as they give us the chance to raise awareness of pet adoption and raise money for Support Adoption For Pets at the same time.

“Customers can give as little or as much as they can spare to help with our fundraising drive and support local charities who are working so hard to find loving new homes for pets within the community.”
