A CAMPAIGNING group who want to see improved rail facilities along the Durham coast are holding an open meeting.
Members of the Coastliners group A Voice for Rail Users will meet on Thursday at the People’s Centre in Raby Road, Hartlepool, with non-members also invited to attend.
Guest speaker will be Paul Henry, station manager for Northern Rail, which operates passenger trains that travel through Hartlepool on the Durham coast between Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
Vic Branfoot, committee secretary of Coastliners, said: “The new timetable comes into operation later this month and we are looking forward to hearing from Mr Henry about its new structure.
“We are hoping there will be improved services by way of later last trains.”
Mr Branfoot added that Mr Henry will report on other developments at Northern Rail and will answer questions from those present at the meeting.
The meeting starts at 7.15pm with doors open from 6.30pm. Admission is free.
