THE loving parents of Becky Bell thanked the generous residents who helped to make a recent fundraiser a huge success.
Julie and Mark Bell along with family and friends organised the event in support of children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent and Ward 14 at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, where Becky was treated.
The event, which was held at the Staincliffe Hotel, in Seaton Carew, raised an impressive £2,200.
Julie and Mark were absolutely delighted with the total and thanked John and Joanne Rogers and family and friends who helped to organise the event. Meanwhile, people will be supporting various charities in memory of Becky at a fundraising event this week.
Katrina McGurran, 34, who is a friend of Becky’s family, organised the event and already has the support of a number of town businesses.
Katrina, an operations manager who lives in Upton Walk, Hartlepool, celebrated her birthday this week and was due to be enjoying a trip to London.
But instead she decided to cancel the visit to the capital and organised a fundraising event in memory of Becky.
Creative Katrina has designed 20 princess models which will be set out around the tables.
The princesses, costing £30, have been sold to companies which can advertise their products on the tables.
Katrina is still urging businesses to come forward and donate and plans to set up various advertisement materials on boards around the room.
The event, which will be held at the Hillcarter Hotel, in Church Street, Hartlepool, this Friday, will also feature entertainment provided by singer Hayley French, a raffle, auction and a race night.
Around 150 people are already expected to be attending the event, which gets underway at 7.30pm, but Katrina is urging companies to donate and get involved.
Money raised on the night will go towards Clic Sargent, ward 14 at Newcastle’s RVI and various other cancer charities.
