Rapping star to visit town

A MULTI-PLATINUM selling rapper is set for a trip to Hartlepool this week to drum up support for a town skate park.

Former N-Dubz star Fazer will be the star attraction at Clavering Activity Zone and Skate Spot, in the Clavering Road area of town, on Friday.

The land there is set to be regenerated as part of the Transform Your Patch scheme, a project which aims to breathe new life into 165 outdoor spaces across the UK.

One of the sites in the region will also win a super level of transformation on top of the planned investment.

An online vote is now up and running giving residents in the town the chance to register their support.

Fazer is one of four celebrities backing the ambitious community-led regeneration programme.

Former footballer Robbie Savage and television presenters Denise van Outen and Emma Wills are also supporting the scheme and visiting sites around the UK.

Fazer said: “When I was a kid I used to hang out at the skate park with my mates all the time.

“I even used to rap while they were showing off their tricks.

“That’s why I think Transform Your Patch is so cool and it’s so easy for people in Hartlepool to get involved and vote.”
