The two-year-old died last night, just as hundreds of yellow balloons were being released on Seaton Carew seafront in his honour.

Jacob choked on a grape at Hartlepool’s Pizza Hut restaurant on Friday and stopped breathing for 30 minutes.

Yesterday, he passed away in the arms of his parents, Abigail Wilson and David Jenkins.

Since Friday, hundreds of people across the region and further afield have been sending messages of support, lighting candles of hope and donating money to a Go Fund Me page, set up in Jacob’s name by family friend Ben Picken.
