Remember Christmas times past

REMEMBER those Christmases from decades gone by?

The one where you captured a photograph of your loved ones opening their presents, their eyes filled with awe?

Or the scenes from Christmas Eve as children tried to sneak a cheeky look at their gifts before Santa has come.

Despite the passing of time, Christmas has remained the same thrilling experience.

We want to share those festive occasions in a new series called Past Christmas.

The Mail is putting together a collection of pictures showing household scenes at Christmas in as many decades as possible.

It could be excited children looking in their stockings or mums and dads wrapping presents and placing them under the tree on Christmas Eve.

All we want for Christmas is for you to send in your images from festive seasons gone by.

Together, we are hoping to build a record of Christmas through the decades, from as far back as possible.

Did you capture the Yuletide season on camera in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s or 1970s?

And we’re sure you have lots of images from the 80s, 90s and especially the years in the new millennium.

Send your Christmas scenes to Chris Cordner. Give them a title of Past Christmas and send them to Chris Cordner either via email to chris.cordner@northeast-press.co.uk, or post them to Chris Cordner, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX.
