Several roads in Hartlepool are reported to be flooded following torrential downpours.
Belle Vue Way between the Tesco and Stag and Monkey pub roundabouts are said to be flooded as well as near to Tata Steel on Brenda Road.
There are also reports of flooding on Powlett Road, South Road and at the Seal Sands roundabout.
A Hartlepool Borough Councilspokesman said: “The Council’s Highways Team has dealt with a number of incidents of minor flooding on roads today.
“We have attended to flooding on Belle Vue Way and are currently in attendance at Tees Road (near Sports Domes).
“All roads remain open in Hartlepool and we are prioritising the reports we have received to ensure maximum safety for road users and pedestrians.”
The heavens opened at lunchtime today.
The forecast is for heavy rain showers for most of the rest of Tuesday, but Wednesday is expected to stay dry.
Cleveland Fire Brigade says it has not been called out to deal with any incidents of flooding so far.
