NURSING home residents had a rocking time when they took a trip down a memory lane of music.

Residents at the Dinsdale Lodge Nursing Home, in Station Lane, Hartlepool, were visited by Holly Gray and Jess Brett from Dream Worldwide Productions.

They were treated to a host of 1950s and 1960s songs performed by Holly and Jess, who donned costumes from the era.

The 15 residents were kept entertained for an hour as the girls wowed them with hits from the likes of Elvis and from the hit movie Grease.

The home’s activities co-ordinator Donna Robinson said the event proved to be a huge success.

She told the Mail: “The residents absolutely loved it.

“The girls went around and asked if they enjoyed it and one of the residents said ‘I remember when I used to wear skirts like that’.

“Activities like this help them reminisce, and it’s also a bit of fun.”

The home, which has a new manager called Ann Newton, raises funds to put on activities like this through organising events including tombolas, with one taking place later this month.

The residents are set for another treat when war-time performers and re-enactors That’s Life pay them a visit.
