RESIDENTS took the time to find out more about major plans to revitalise a seaside resort.
A drop-in consultation event was held for people keen on having their say on the multi-million pound scheme for Seaton Carew, in Hartlepool, which includes new houses, chalets, mini golf, and improvements to sea defences.
It was held recently in the Seaton Carew Community Centre, in Elizabeth Way.
Hartlepool Borough Council has appointed the North-East construction company Esh Group as its preferred developer to work with it on the long-term project.
Experts predict the first phase would be carried out this year and would include 30 new houses to be built on land on Elizabeth Way.
The other proposals include;
l Water play and mini golf areas on the seafront as well as beach chalets;
l Up to 140 new houses at the junction of Coronation Drive and Warrior Drive;
l About 30 new homes on the old fairground site on the seafront;
l Further improvements to the sea defences, promenade and overall improvement.
