Residents in a street are set to share in a £3million win on the People's Postcode Lottery.

The postcode TS22 5, which is in Billingham, was drawn as the winner of the May Postcode Millions.

Winners will receive their invitation in the post today to attend a special event in The Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, on Saturday, June 3, where they will find out exactly how much they’ve won.

As a charity lottery player’s play for the chance to win but also support causes up and down the country.

With a minimum of 30% going to good causes across Great Britain and internationally, players have raised over £197.5 million for charities.

A number of local projects in Billingham have received support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery including Daisy Chain, a charity which supports families that are affected by autism.

To date, the group has received more than £1,230,000 from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador and former TFM Radio presenter, Judie McCourt, who will be joining players on the day, said: “I absolutely love coming home to the North East and to be coming back with lots of cheques makes it even more exciting.

"We were in Gateshead handing out £3million in August last year and they were a great crowd so I’m excited to see how the players from Billingham will react when they receive their very own cheques."

It isn’t the first time players from Billingham have won with People’s Postcode Lottery.

In April 2011, 119 people in the town shared a £2.5million prize pot, with Grandmother Betty Smith walking away with a whopping £600,000.

Organisers will reveal more details regarding the cheque presentation, including the minimum amount winners can expect to receive, in the coming days at www.postcodelottery.co.uk and in the press.
