A bitter man posted revenge porn pictures of a horrified mum on her beauty business Facebook page during a campaign of "psychological torture" after she rejected him.

Shaun Boyle left his victim humiliated, stressed and out of pocket when he posted two graphic personal pictures onto a page the world could see.

The 26-year-old had previously sent the pictures to his victim in a private format and threatened to make them public.

Within hours of the threat the images appeared on her business page - along with threats that he would send them to friends' inboxes.

The shocking images caused customers to turn away from the business.

As well as humiliating the woman by making the deeply private images available for all to see, Boyle made a series of texts and calls threatening to kill her, which left her terrified.

She said the ordeal has made her life "hell".

Newcastle Crown Court heard Boyle had become angry because he believed the woman loved him but she rejected him outright.

Her ordeal started with texts and calls from Boyle warning "my name is Shaun Boyle, I am going to kill you".

Boyle repeatedly warned "you are going to die" and told her "you have pushed me to the limit".

The court heard as the threats and abuse grew more and more threatening, the woman blocked Boyle from being able to contact her personal numbers.

It was then she received an inbox containing graphic images of herself, with the threat they would be posted on her Facebook business forum.

Prosecutor Emma Dowling told the court: "She said she was really upset and worried he would post graphic personal pictures on her business page and social media.

"She checked her Facebook wall and found the defendant had indeed posted two intimate photographs on the wall.

"Those photographs had been taken, initially, with consent.

"She felt humiliated and distressed by what he had done, felt he was trying to ruin her business."

The court heard even after the humiliating postings, Boyle continued to message his victim, saying "unblock me or other people might to get these in their inboxes".

Boyle, of Walker, Newcastle, admitted making threats to kill and a charge of revenge porn.

In a series of victim impact statement to the police, the woman said: "I am petrified of Shaun and what he is capable of doing to me.

"He is making my life hell.

"I am worried he is trying to ruin my business.

"I no longer feel safe at home and I am constantly looking over my shoulder in case he turns up.

"I feel physically and emotionally exhausted.

"This has also impacted on my financially after he posted the intimate photos on my business Facebook page.

"I have lost customers as a result of this, which has effected my income and added further stress to me."

Judge Tim Gittins sentenced Boyle to 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years with programme requirements, 150 hours unpaid work and a lifelong ban from contacting his victim.

The judge said: "She was, as is clear from her statements, deeply effected by what you had done.

"It was psychological torture, of a kind.

"You threatened her and then upped the ante by sending her a private message threatening to post intimate, graphic pictures of her you had taken by consent.

"When you didn't get your way, you put them on a public space of her business website, no doubt calculated, in drink, to cause damage and distress to her and her business. "

The judge said a suspended sentence was in the long term interest of the victim and the public to try and ensure Boyle receives help and stop him doing the same to any other woman.

The court heard Boyle was at home and had been drinking when sent the messages and postings and did not make any plans to carry out his kill threats.
