A live music extravaganza will return to Hartlepool next year with a fantastic line-up of acts.

Hartlepool March Of The Mods 2017 is a weekend event with live bands all day on the Saturday, and a Northern Soul all-dayer on the Sunday featuring the best DJs around.

We have a superb line up of bands and acoustic acts from in town and across the UK

It will take place at the Staincliffe hotel, at Seaton Carew, on March 4 and 5.

It is the fourth annual event and will raise money for three great local causes.

Kev McGuire, one of the organisers, said: “We have a superb line up of bands and acoustic acts from in town and across the UK including one of the founder members of The Jam Steve Brookes who will be performing a warm up show Friday, March 3, at The Nursery in Hart Lane supported by Terry Abbey.”

This year’s March of the Mods raised an incredible £15,464.

Half of 2017’s proceeds from the weekend will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust to pay for nurses, drugs, activity rooms and equipment at Newcastle’s RVI and Freeman hospitals, which treat patients from Hartlepool, and Gretton Court Alzheimer’s Day Centre, Hartlepool.

Other beneficiaries will be Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough, which cares for babies and children aged up to five from Teesside, including Hartlepool, with life-limiting illnesses and complex needs.

One lucky reveller could win a LML 125 deluxe scooter (2009 plate) in a raffle which will be drawn on the Saturday night.

Tickets are on sale now for £5 and organisers can drop them off for those unable to buy them online.

The March of the Mods event team are Paul Meredith, Charlie Campbell, Neil Parry, David Pottinger, Wendy Meredith and Kev McGuire, while Sunday’s Northern Soul all-dayer is being organised by Karen & Paul Altringham. Tickets for the main event are £10 for the Saturday only, £7 for Sunday only, or £15 for the full weekend.
