AN eight-week road closure in Hartlepool has come to an end.
Motorists have been faced with delays and diversions while £650,000 of sewerage improvements are carried out in Powlett Road.
The road reopened yesterday although work will continue for four weeks.
Northumbria Water says the scheme is due to be completed by the end of April but will not require any more road closures.
Contractors are installing 750ft of piping along sections of Powlett Road and Lancaster Road.
A new stormwater storage tank is also being built on land just off Lancaster Road North to combat flooding problems.
