THE jury in a robbery trial are expected to come back with a verdict today.
Martin Casey and Philip Hewitson are standing trial at Teesside Crown Court accused of snatching a market researcher’s bag off her shoulder in broad daylight.
A jury of four men and eight women retired at 11.30am yesterday and are expected to return to the courtroom today to tell Judge Peter Bowers their decision.
Casey and Hewitson are alleged to have pounced on Claire Wilson while she was knocking on doors in Hart Lane, Hartlepool, on January 15.
She said she was attacked by two people from behind who pushed her into the road and ran off with her laptop, which was in a bag over her shoulder.
Casey, 27, of Warren Road, Hartlepool, and Hewitson, 31, of Rodney Street, Hartlepool, were arrested on suspicion of robbery after being stopped in Collingwood Road by two PCSOs.
