A BILLINGHAM man will take an exhilarating journey from the top of an iconic bridge to raise money in memory of his mum.

Ross Graham will zip slide 1000ft across the River Tees from the Transporter Bridge on Saturday, August 15.

In August 2013, Ross’s mam Helen, 51, was told she had malignant melanoma, and would not recover.

Helen lost her battle last June but Ross pledged to help Macmillan and said: “I hope everyone is determined to get involved and register for this event in aid of this fantastic charity.”

Liz Airey, Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising manager, said: “His continuous support is amazing.

The charity drive has been backed by a company called Hair Solved, based in Jesmond, Newcastle.

The Zip Slide experience is organised by Extreme Sensations Bungee and Zip line Club.

All participants must be over 10 years old (accompanied by a parent/legal guardian) and in good health. If in doubt, contact your doctor before registering.

For more information, call 07801 307012 or e-mail lairey@macmillan.org.uk. To register for the event, visit the Macmillan website HERE.

The registration fee is £25 and there is a required sponsorship of £120.
