A FOOTBALL mascot is preparing for another epic charity challenge next month when he joins the team’s manager in the Great North Run.
Last season Hartlepool United mascot H’Angus walked 18 miles in pouring rain from the club’s training ground, in Durham, to Victoria Park for the game with Yeovil Town.
His next challenge is to take part in the Great North Run alongside manager Colin Cooper for the Finlay Cooper Fund.
H’Angus will join 41 other runners competing on behalf of the fund on Sunday, September 15.
Mr Cooper says he is proud that so many people are backing their drive to support local children’s charities.
The Pools boss said: “Anyone who supports us by sponsoring the runners or attending any event, is very much appreciated because it allows us to do what we love doing best – making donations to worthy children’s causes.”
