A SCHOOL showed its caring side by donating scores of presents to the Mail’s successful Give a Little Gift appeal.
Hart Primary School handed over around 150 items courtesy of staff, pupils and their parents.
They also paid money to wear Christmas jumpers as part of their festive celebrations with the £122 collected again supporting the appeal’s work.
The school’s contribution to Give a Little Gift, which included a donation by staff at St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, in Elwick, was organised by assistant headteacher Lyndsey James.
She said: “I was over the moon with the response and it just goes to show again what wonderful people we have here at Hart Primary School.”
The donation marked the end of another successful Give a Little Gift appeal.
Mail readers donated thousands of items ranging from selection boxes up to a giant ice hockey table game.
We have already handed all your presents over to organisations and charities across town so they can distribute them to needy children and their families in time for Christmas Day.
Mail editor Joy Yates said: “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to Give a Little Gift this year.
“Your response was amazing and illustrates once again just how generous people in the Hartlepool area are towards others.”
Among the causes to distribute presents on your behalf are Hartlepool Domestic Violence Outreach Service, Hartlepool Carers, Rossmere Children’s Centre, Tees Valley Housing and Hartlepool Borough Council.
