FROM teams to young stars - we’ve had all kinds of entries for this year’s Hartlepool Mail sports awards.
But one question remains. Where are all the heroes in the fields of disability sports and sports officials.
Not one entrant has been received in either category despite strong responses in other areas.
We have less than a month to go until we close the contest to new entries and we want more nominations from all sectors of competition, especially those that have been shy to get off the mark.
Details on how to enter can be found below.
Why not take the time to put forward that person who never gets the headlines, or the club favourite who puts in the hard yards every week.
We want to hear from people of all walks of sporting life.
It could be the caretaker who keeps the pitches up to scratch, the club secretary who makes sure everything is in order, or the treasurer who ensures the finances are in place.
It could be the rising young player who is making great strides in their chosen sport. Or it could be the veteran performer who has remained loyal to your team through many years of competition.
We know there are still plenty of heroes of football, cricket, rugby and many other sports in Hartlepool. We want to honour the people who make our town the envy of the country.
Over the years, Hartlepool has regularly produced winners in boxing, golf, swimming, athletics and lots more sports besides.
In fact, it doesn’t matter which sport you compete in – we want to hear from you all.
This is only the second year that we have run our sports awards and our inaugural event was a winner.
But we want to make the 2014 version even bigger and better. Let’s make it a competition to remember.
From the best in disabled sportspeople to grass roots performers, from coaches to teams – we want to honour them all.
Over the next few weeks, we shall be featuring stories on some of the nominations that we have already received.
Then it’s over to the judges to draw up a shortlist before the glittering finale in early October.
