THE search has started for Hartlepool’s most beautiful youngsters – and we’re sure you’ll agree that adorable twins Liam and Shaun stand a very good chance.
The Hartlepool Mail’s Cute Kids 2014 has been launched and is giving you the chance to show everyone one in town how terrific your tots are.
Dozens of hopefuls and their parents and grandparents have been turning up at the competition studio in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, near McDonald’s, where child-friendly photographers are there to capture your little ones best side for the coveted contest.
Jaime Horton, mum of non-identical twins Liam and Shaun, who turn two-years-old next month, had beaming smiles while they had their gorgeous faces snapped.
Jaime, 36, from the Elwick Road area of Hartlepool, said it was the first time she had entered her adorable twosome into the contest but was excited to see how they fared.
She said: “We were just walking past and I just thought ‘why not?’
“I’ve seen the competition running for many years, it’s a bit of a tradition.
“One of my friend’s kids won it a couple of years ago.”
She added: “Everyone thinks their children are gorgeous and I’m no different.
“There are lots of cute children though, and we’ve given it a go so we’ll just see what happens.”
The competition is free to enter and is open to all children aged from newborn to five-years-old.
It runs until Saturday with the studio opening from 10am until 1pm, and 2pm until 5pm.
Entry coupons are available on the pages of the Mail every day this week.
Once you have entered your child into the Cute Kids competition, they will in the Mail along with other entrants.
Then in September, people can vote for their favourite tot to keep him or her in the contest.
Based on the number of votes received, entrants will be whittled down to a top 20, and then a top 10, until the cutest kid in Hartlepool is crowned.
Best of luck.
