IT just would not be Christmas without your Hartlepool Mail’s Dear Santa contest.
We have a fantastic £1,000 of prize-money to give away this year as part of this year’s contest.
Hundreds of children have enjoyed taking part in Dear Santa over the years and we are hoping dozens more will submit entries this year.
Town recycling and waste management expert Niramax has once again agreed to back our competition.
Managing director Frank Antropik said: “As a local company, we are always keen to put something back into the community we serve.
“Dear Santa is a perfect example of this and we are pleased to once again sponsor the Hartlepool Mail’s annual competition.
“Our £1,000 donation will hopefully brighten up Christmas for the young winners.”
Writing to Santa is simple enough.
All entrants 16 and under have to do is either complete the application form linked to this page or provide the requiried information in an email with their famiilies’ permission.
We want to know why you deserve a share of this year’s prizes.
Perhaps you have helped others less fortunate than yourself or looked after a poorly friend or relative.
Maybe it is you who has suffered health problems and need cheering up.
You may also deserve a reward for some outstanding achievement during the last 12 months.
Whatever your story, we want to hear about it.
Emailed letters and completed application forms also need to have a picture attached.
Our judges will sift through all the entries after our deadline of Friday, December 13, has passed and print the best in a souvenir supplement the following week.
There will be four lucky winners chosen, each receiving £250 worth of prizes.
The winners will then be revealed in time for them to receive their prizes by the big day itself.
So what are you waiting for? Get writing.
Postal entries should be sent to Dear Santa, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX.
Emailed entries should go to email@example.com
The judges’ decision will be final and we regret we cannot enter into any discussion or correspondence about their verdicts.
The winners’ families must also agree to be interviewed and allow their child’s photo to be taken at a presentation ceremony at the Mail’s offices.
Usual Mail competition rules apply and are available on request.
Just one final reminder – don’t forget that picture.
