PARENTS are being urged to make good use of a scheme that will keep youngsters occupied over the summer holidays.
Out of School Care (OSCAR), run by Hartlepool Borough Council, is organising full-day sessions for children between the ages of three and 16 over the six-week period.
They will be held at the OSCAR1 base, next door to the West View Community Centre, in Miers Avenue, and at the OSCAR2 base, in Owton Manor Community Centre, in Wynyard Road.
Parents can drop off their children from 8.30am and collect them before 5.45pm.
Sandra Robinson, the council’s Out of School co-ordinator, said: “This year we’ve got a really impressive programme to make sure that children have a fantastic time over the summer holidays.
“We have activities within the centres such as bead crafts, toy day and our Oscar’s Got Talent competition. But we also have some great trips to places including Tweddle Farm, Wynyard Country Park, the cinema, Adventure Valley and Rough’N’Tumble at Newton Aycliffe.
“If parents are having to juggle working and looking after their children during the summer holidays, OSCAR could just be the answer.
“Children have a great time with us and parents can relax knowing that their children are in safe hands.
“We have a really experienced team and offer an all-inclusive service catering for all children’s needs.”
The fun gets under way on Friday, July 22, and runs until the end of August.
