ORGANISERS of Greatham Christmas Market have made an appeal for more stall holders to help make the event another cracker.
The festive event, which aims to help bring the community together, will be held on The Green on Sunday, December 9.
Volunteers from the Greatham Christmas Market have issued an appeal for groups and organisations who want to promote their work and wares to bag a space.
Last year, more than 20 stalls lined The Green along with a host of family entertainment.
Mike McKie, of the Christmas market committee, said: “Each year we try to have a good selection and new ideas.
“The key is to have plenty of variety so people don’t get bored. If any groups or new businesses would like a stall to promote themselves we would be happy to hear from them.”
Several charities who held stalls last year reported healthy takings.
Makers of traditional cards and cakes, and local community groups, are also due to be at this year’s market.
Mike, who runs McKie’s General Dealers in the village, added: “It helps towards the charity and the businesses of the village so they don’t die out.
“The funds we raise go to pay for things in the village that people would have to pay for so it is nice for us to give a little bit back.
The market will take place on and around The Green from 4pm onwards.
The full line-up of entertainment and attractions has still to be announced.
“We always try to have a few surprises for people,” said Mike. “We hope to create a good atmosphere.”
Greatham Primary School’s Christmas party is once again being funded by the market group.
They also pay for two Christmas trees in the village and have funded a community disco during this year’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
If you would like to have a stall, which cost £15, contact Mike or Angela McKie on 07933 733592 or call into the store in Egerton Terrace.
