Shopping online could raise cash for charity

A CHARITY has signed up to an online incentive for shoppers to help raise extra funds.

Red Dreams has registered with online shopping portal www.givingabit.com which donates money every time someone makes a purchase.

With thousands of retailers funding the service – including John Lewis, Amazon, Selfridges, Boots and Sainsbury’s – Red Dream charity’s supporters can now raise funds every time they shop online.

Dawn McManus, founder of Red Dreams, said “We’re delighted to be registered with givingabit.com as every penny raised this way soon adds up.

“The rise in online shopping is huge and is only set to grow. All we ask is that our supporters remember us while they shop – and they can raise money without spending a penny more.”

The money donated comes from the retailers themselves as a thank you for shopping with them.

“It’s a great thing to be a part of,” Dawn added.

“Just by doing a weekly grocery shop online, we can receive £26 a year – imagine if every one of our supporters did just that?

“The difference to us would be phenomenal.”

Registration to givingabit.com is free for everyone. Check out the website for more details.
