WORK on a £7m housing scheme on a key route into Hartlepool is on schedule to be completed later this summer.
A show home is now open at Housing Hartlepool’s Easington Road development, where £7m is being invested to provide much-needed affordable homes for the town.
Construction will be completed in September, with 68 properties comprising two, three and four bedroomed houses and two-bedroomed bungalows being built.
Properties will be available for sale, shared ownership and for rent.
Sarah Fawcett, Housing Hartlepool’s head of development, said: “A show home now being open is an important milestone in the development of 68 high quality homes at Easington Road.
“These stunning, spacious properties, which will be economical to run and incorporate various energy efficiency measures, are aimed at a range of people.
“With Easington Road being a main gateway route into the town, Housing Hartlepool’s transformation and regeneration of this area is being followed with interest by residents, including the many motorists who drive past the site each day.”
Sixteen two and three-bedroomed houses are for sale with the two- bedroom properties priced from £109,950 and the three-bed homes from £124,950.
The Easington Road scheme has been allocated £1.85m in funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
All of the properties are being built to comply with the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes, making them highly energy efficient as well as cheaper to heat and run.
