Merchandise released by Sunderland AFC following their record-breaking sixth derby win over Newcastle United has provoved huge debate online.

Sunday’s 3-0 win for the Black Cats made it the first time either side has beaten the other six times in a row.

Items from the range, including mugs, T-shirts and “six in a row” scarves are available to pre-order now.

On Twitter, Ian Mason wrote: “My word what a load of tat.”

On user posting as SAFC Notts Branch said in reference to the mugs bearing the phrase “Geordie Slayers” that “many of our own fans are geordies..”

And MalfuriousP said: “I get that the gloating is deserved... But this is just...wow. I don’t think even @Arsenal do this to @SpursOfficial?”

Some SAFC fans have asked for the range to be removed, with others asking if a DVD of the six consecutive wins is being released.
