SLIDESHOW: Celebrating 30 years of show business

MEET the performers who are pulling out all the stops for a show to celebrate a dance school owner’s 30 years in the business.

Val Armstrong has enjoyed three decades in the Hartlepool dance world. To celebrate the milestone, the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts, which is based in Whitby Street South, Hartlepool, is presenting a show called Unstoppable this week until Saturday.

It will be held at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road.

Val told the Hartlepool Mail: “The only way to describe my 30 years as a dance teacher, performer and choreographer is to say it had been a wonderful experience and quiet a journey.

“Along the way I have met and worked with some if the most amazing inspirational people and have taught some incredibly talented children.

“I wouldn’t change any of my experience and I have been so lucky to have worked in a profession I love so much.”

Val said all of her cast was “really excited” about the forthcoming show and said the attractions would include a “lot of new choreography which has not been seen before.”

Shows start at 6.30pm each evening and there will be a 1.30pm matinee on the Saturday.

Tickets are £9.50 or £8.50 with concessions and are available from Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre, Church Square. You can also buy your tickets by contacting the theatre box office on (01429) 890000.
