SLIDESHOW: Edith Harrison stars to shine

SCORES of performing arts students are preparing for their moment in the spotlight.

A cast of 63 youngsters, all members of the Edith Harrison Performing Arts School, in Hartlepool, are looking forward to a three-night run of a new show.

The dedicated cast have prepared meticulously for the show which is titled The Best of Song, Dance and Drama.

Edith said: “There are 63 students involved and they are aged from five years upwards.

“The show is a review of musical theatre. There is a bit of Top Hat and Les Miserables.

“There is some ballet and the younger children will be doing the Wizard of Oz.”

The show will feature 48 different songs and dances, said Edith.

She added: “Some of the youngsters will also be doing a scene from the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

“We are in full swing with rehearsals.”

Shows will be held in the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, in Hartlepool.

They start at 7pm on Wednesday, May 22, Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24.

Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £7 for senior citizens.
